The 760 seems to be set up for city driving, not highway driving. It works great showing the road to travel from point A to B in city driving. Roads are uncluttered, named, and easy to follow.

The Map Mode (normal driving mode for highway trips) lacks detail on long trips like city names, park boundaries, some bodies of water or other features normally associated with a printed map. Examples are City names in your path are not shown, even by a dot on the highway. City or county boundaries are not shown. When entering a Metroplex on the highway what town are you in? The Map Mode won’t tell you although the locate button will give some written details without the map. But that takes eyes off the road and requires resetting into the Map Mode. When passing a state or national park the 760 might print the name in letters. Where are the park boundaries, entrance dot? While the GPS provides 9 foot resolution, items off road are very coarse in definition using squares, triangles to show boundary.

Since the unit can not be loaded with USA Streets, Microsoft Streets, Delorme, Buyer is beholding to Thales Navigation to provide downloads. For such an expensive unit, not being in control of the most recent maps may be risky.
