When I won this unit in a drawing, I was ecstatic. Already owning two GPS receivers, I can’t say I exactly needed it, but I thought I was getting a top-of-the-line Garmin GPS receiver. What I learned is that it is a basic-featured unit with a nice color display. After playing with the StreetPilot ColorMap for about 2 hours, I knew I was ready to sell it on eBay and continue using my eMap and eTrex.

A few other details:

* Display is plenty bright, even in full sun.

* Battery life is acceptable when using 1600mAH NiMH batteries.

* User guide is confusing.

* Garmin Mapsource software is ridiculously expensive. (That problem is not specific to this model, but needs to be said.)
