Well, after a series of frustrating and ultimately futile forays trying to get the Garmin Rhino 110 to work properly, I found myself thoroughly unhappy with this product. And I started off being really excited to get the 110 !
This began with the instructions that were difficult to follow or implement because they were consistently incomplete, disorganized and confusingwhether it was the Quick Start guide or the Owners Manual. In many cases, operating steps were missing and I had to literally figure them out and write them in. They should have called it the “Quick Stop” guide.
That left me with the machine itself, which often had to be turned off because it was the only way to exit or clear the screens–particularly the map screen, which is really a pain because that is what this machine was theoretically built to do. The Garmin was a bear to try to figure out and its operations were not intuitive in the least.
It may advertise that you can track your movements from a base location, but mine only did after MILES of movement. Not very helpful if you were lost in the woods.
Even basic things didnt work: the belt holder kept falling off and the wrist holder seemed to have no place to attach it other than between the rubber piece separating the radio and GPS antennaewhich it successfully tore through the first time out.
I have never found myself more discouraged and unhappy with a product.
All in, I wouldn’t buy this again and, in fact, I returned it for my money back. Stick with a map and compass and save yourself the $167.
