I bought this unit from my local Tesco Extra store because I work there so I get staff discount, and I’d also saved up 86 pounds worth of clubcard vouchers over the past 18 months, so I ended up paying just under 185 pounds for it even though it was marked up at 299.97!!!

My reason for choosing this particular model was because of it’s size. There have been a number of vehicle break-ins in my area, where sat-nav systems have been targeted for theft, so I wanted one that was easy to carry. This one passes that test with flying colours. The mounting cradle is easy to attach to, and remove from the windscreen, so you can hide it in the glovebox to remove the evidence that you own a sat-nav, and the unit itself is so small that it will easily fit into a shirt pocket! Therefore you’ll have no excuse for leaving it in the car!

The GPS reception is excellent, I’ve only tried a short 5-mile journey so far with it in the car, but I’ve had no problems and it also works perfectly on the ground floor of a semi-detached house away from all the windows.

My favourite thing about it however, is that the built in battery is recharged by taking power via the mini-usb jack, so it will recharge while it’s connected to your computer. This is great news for owners of Motorola V3 mobile phones, like myself, as these phones use exactly the same power connector and can also be charged by computer, so this means that you only need to take one car power adapter with you to charge both your sat-nav and your mobile phone, furthermore although the Navman isn’t supplied with a mains adapter, you can still charge it indoors without a PC if you use your phone’s charger!
