I was a little skeptical at first with this unit after some of the reviews I had read in online blogs, but decided to try it out because of the Garmin name and low price. I located a new, factory refurbished with 1 year warranty unit on ebay for $159.00 by EdgeGPS.com ( a great Garmin dealer by the way). After receiving it, I was driving around playing with it within an hour. The software bundle was user friendly and easy to understand. I live in the northeast and had most of it programmed on my memory card. My unit came with the newest City Navigator program v.8, and 99% of the roads and locations were listed in the program. The unit itself is fairly easy to figure out if you browse through the quick reference guide and cycle through the buttons on the unit. This is now considered a DISCONTINUED unit by Garmin, but in no way does that mean it is outdated. I was very pleased at the satellite acquisition time (usually under 15 secs for 9 sats)and the refresh rate. I cant tell much of a difference between the new factory unit in my sister’s 2007 Honda and the Streetpilot other than the touch screen and voice activation in the Honda. The bottom line - This is a great unit for under $200 if you dont really need a touchscreen and you are looking for an inexpensive start into the GPS market. Check out EdgeGPS.com for all Garmin products. As happy as I am with the Streetpilot, I am equally as happy with these guys, a top notch, honest company.
