I’ve had one of these units for a couple of years and I’m very happy with it. Very rugged, waterproof, vibration-proof, tough enough for boating, hiking, skiing, motorcycling. It’s quite easy to use and has lots of useful information, such as altitude, direction (compass), current and average speed, time of day, sunrise/sunset. You can mark up to 99 waypoints, and keep a fairly long trip log (tracking).

I’ve been impressed with Garmin and that they keep publishing firmware updates for this product, and that you can use this unit with their mapping software if you buy the computer data cable. I’ve been able to record resonably long trips and upload them onto my laptop and project the trip onto a map.

This is a very good, handy, easy to use unit for campers, hunters, hikers, and general outdoor use.
