I can’t say enough about this model, I don’t have the other more recent models to compare, but this I do know “it works like a charm”.
I used the eMap on my 20 foot boat to locate a sunken ship off the coast of North Carolina. I wanted to anchor to the bow of the sunken ship, so I used the specifications I found on a website about the old Liberty ship (USS Zane Grey). I passed over the sunken ship, located 7 miles offshore in 2 foot seas with my brand new eMap, then I used my depth finder to locate the bow of the boat. I used the eMap’s marker to pinpoint the bow, then I readied my anchor. I went back to the exact location that I had marked with the eMap and tossed my anchor overboard, it sank 68 feet and locked onto the sunken wreck on the first try. I jumped into my scuba gear and dove onto the wreck. I was amazed to see my anchor had latched onto the bow of the sunk vessel…perfectly. I think that this example speaks directly to how well the eMap performs. I have many more examples of how I used my eMap…just write me to find out.
