While the 2610 is a very good unit expect to wait at LEAST 30 minutes for customer service. Have made three calls to Garmin and all have been at LEAST 30 mins; also sent two emails to Garmin for update disks (entitled to free update)with NO response. Thought you might want to know this tidbit before investing about a grand into a GPS unit.

The unit works great however the mapping software (Mapsource) and maps are out of date as soon as they arrive and good luck trying to get updates from Garmin unless you have more money to spend. I would say their products are top notch but unless they update their customer support service I think I’ll pass on the next purchase.

The unit does what it says it does and is very easy to use, however, don’t expect it to replace Mapquest anytime soon. Again, my major complaint is the maps are outdated big time (told to turn down road that had been closed for over 20 years) and Garmin customer service (was passed from rep to rep because no one appeared to know what they were talking about and all were young; I really don’t think they like working there from the sound of their voice).
