Being a directionally challenged person by nature, I always knew I needed some kind of device to keep me on track. On a recent trip to New York with a business associate, I found it!
She has a Garmin StreetPilot GPS in her car. What a toy that was for the drive! This is one gadget that I absolutely must have.
I travel to cities that I am not familiar with on a regular basis and use Mapquest (which is wonderful) to get there and back, but how great is it to have a devise that shows me exactly where I am as well as where I am going?
The maps are very easy to read even while driving. They can be accessed in color or black and white. You can see an overview of the map or a detailed street map depending on your needs at the current time. The display will also show you speed, miles and time traveled. This is a great feature for record keeping when you are traveling for business.
The display has adjustable lighting. We did both day and night driving and the maps were easy to see at all times.
I’m sure that during our trip, I did not even begin to scratch the surface of what the StreetPilot can do, but as soon as I get mine, I will let you know.
From the research that I’ve done, this is quite a pricey item, around $900.00. I will have to do some saving, but I will definitely have one.
