O.K., so I am not being PC…but I don’t like speaking to foreigners who (while very polite) hand you the same line of garbage week after week. Sent my husband’s Magellan 500PLUS back for service because it suddenly stopped powering up. Paid $146.00 for the repair fee (it was out of warranty) and shipped it to Thales. a little more than 2 weeks later, we received the unit back. However, even though it powered up, nothing worked! All you get is the menu screen and a non-working touch screen and keys. Send the unit back again for repair…Here we are about 6 weeks total and no Magellan. Feels like we spent $800 total for empty promises that it will be returned ’soon’. I finally got a supervisor on the phone today after about half an hour who said he couldn’t make promises but that hopefully we will receive it back by the end of the week (then we will be going on 7 weeks) If you need this to get around for your job, buy something more durable that you can take to an authorized repair center yourself. Otherwise, your Magellan might just end up somewhere in the Twilight Zone.
