I have a Dell Axim PDA with which I use the Pharos GPS receiver. The product is kind of quirky, and takes some getting used to in order for it to work properly. I think at times I had to plug everything in in a specific sequence, or the GPS wouldn’t work properly.

I do want to say that this product has a feature that I think is really helpful. The bulk of my usage of this GPS was to go house hunting. I would have a list of 10 houses or so to go find, and I would plug the addresses into the PDA, and the GPS program has a feature that basically lets you tell it to “take me to these addresses in the most efficient manner”. It will then get you to all of the houses in the order which makes the most sense and the least time.

About a year after receiving the GPS, it stopped working completely for no apparent reason. To Pharos’ credit, their tech support department was rather helpful. They walked me through several troubleshooting procedures to no avail. I had also lost my warranty and proof of purchase. Eventually, they gave me a RMA number and I sent them the receiver. About a week or two later, I received a brand new receiver. So, I’m pretty pleased with Pharos in general, despite the “bugginess” of this product.
