I bought this one almost two years ago, when it first came out, for $200 at Service Merchandise. From the moment I turned it on, I was highly impressed with what it did, and with each new firmware revision, I am more amazed. I bought it mainly because I hate the directions that people will give you to get to somewhere:

“Turn left at the fork, go west till you see the haystack on the side of the road, the come up on the south side.”

Huh? This leaves a lot to the imagination. People have a strange tendency to leave out a lot of information, something the eMap does not. You put in a coordinate, and it directs you there, no problem. The key to using this thing is the arrow, which I like to call “The Magic Arrow” because it always points in the direction you need to go. So even if you don’t have your uber-complex route downloaded into it, as long as you at least have the final destination in there, you can follow the arrow to the end. I can’t tell you how many times this has saved me from getting lost in New Orleans, which is a place you don’t want to be lost in, if you get my drift.

One other product that I would like to pimp is DeLorme StreetAtlas USA. It’s the ONLY product that will download routes to the Garmin eMap, and it does that well. it’s extremely accurate too.
