I bought the etrex Nov 2000 and have found 1000 uses for this GPS. Right out of the box I had mapped out every building and tree on my 2 acre lot and had my sons trying to find candy at the spot I had hidden it. So my first and number one tip for this product is to have fun with it.

The etrex’s ease of use is its greatest worth. I can use this GPS with one hand and find the exact location of the big bass that got away. Speaking of boats, it is water proof and I have knocked mine accidentally into the lake once just to prove to myself it is so.

Travel Tip I have used with the etrex is to get the Lat and Long from Mapquest and plot your trip. My wife used the etrex and had a ball helping me with time to arrive and you are driving too fast.
