I’ll only talk about some things here I’ve not seen mentioned or at least emphasized in some of the other reviews here, most of which I think are right on target.

I couldn’t be home when UPS came for me to sign for it, so I had to pick it up at UPS about 10 miles from my house. Remembering that the reviews I read talked about it being easy to use right out of the box, I did so — set it up in the parking lot at UPS. With a minimum of looking through menus, I found how to put in my home address and it saved me about 5 minutes getting home!

I’ve not used some of the more advanced features yet — I have played with the searches but just to see if they worked, haven’t yet had to look for a gas station or anything. The two weaknesses I’ve seen so far are that the touch screen seems a bit finicky (my fingers may be a bit big) — sometimes it doesn’t seem to “take” when I press a button on the touch screen. The second weakness is when you go off route — it does *not* want you to U-Turn, so can end up routing you a *long* way to the next street in front of you, maybe 2-3 miles going “around the block” rather than turning around in a driveway on the way. I’ve noticed this when pulling out of a parking lot also — if I happen to be facing the opposite way of the “best” direction home when I start moving, even if to turn around in the lot, it routes me out that side of the parking lot and a longer way to my destination.

But overall, I just love it! It’s very accurate, and with the above in mind usually i can watch the map and see that I can go north one block and then east rather than south, west, north, and then east for example.

I would like the ability to have it run on internal batteries — my lighter power goes off whenever the car goes off, even if only for a second. But it does re-find the satellites very quickly.
